If you feel like enough is enough, you have come to the right place.
What dreams and adventures is your chronic pain withholding you from?
As a certified Chek Practitioner (IMS 1 HLC 1), Physiotherapist, and Empowered Heart Facilitator I am passionate about helping us explore our pain experiences, especially chronic pain, as a gateway into deeper understanding and connection with self.
Pain is not random. It is our body’s intelligent way of trying to tell us something is off. Blunting this signal with medication or treatments that do not attend to the root cause leads to that signal getting louder and louder, until the body is screaming for support in the form of chronic pain or disease.
Luckily, it is never too late to learn how to support your body in the way that it needs in order to heal. In all idiopathic cases (meaning without a clear moment of injury) and many post accident experiences, chronic pain CAN be overcome. However, it takes an integrative, multifactorial approach and the WILLINGNESS to get there.
I will co-create the approach if you bring that willingness. If you are ready to invest in yourself and do the work that needs to be done in order to learn from your pain experience and work towards lasting relief, then schedule a free 15 minute pre-qualifying service call to see if this would be a good fit.
this service is for you if:
You are experiencing chronic pain (anything more than 6 weeks) in your neck, back, hips, knees, or ankles… because, YES that whole musculoskeletal system works together and needs to be treated as such
You have tried multiple musculoskeletal professionals like physiotherapists, osteopaths, or chiropractors and were dissatisfied with the results
You were told you NEED to have surgery but want to avoid this
You are reliant on medication to function in your daily life
You are fed up with the exhausting influence of pain and restriction on your life
You would like an accountability buddy to facilitate a 4 month long self-care and self-empowerment journey that will equip you with the tricks and tools to carry with you for a lifetime
You are looking for a holistic approach to your overall health

FAQS

The body is an inter relating system and I work with it as such. I have a particular excitement and passion around working with chronic back, hip, knee, ankle, and foot pain cases because these areas are where I have suffered the most injuries, however I can and have worked with ailments of all areas of the body (including pelvic floor, orofacial, hands, etc).
-
ABSOLUTELY. With my background in physiotherapy, I have been trained in identifying red flags that would warrant referral for imaging in high risk cases. I can screen for serious pathology through careful and informed questioning, which can save you a trip to the doctor’s office.
I will also note, even with an official diagnosis or urgence to get operated on, there are still many things you can do to correct the issue yourself with time, motivation, and discipline. With a proper analysis and clear guidance on what to do, an operation can be prevented.
-
You will need to fill out and return some questionnaires before the initial assessment which can take 10-20 minutes.
The in person assessment can take up to 2 hours. Subsequent sessions are an hour long and the frequency of meetings is based on the package you elected for/ or was recommended based on your situation.
-
The intake assessment and re-assessment moments do need to be performed in person. In between sessions for holistic lifestyle coaching and personal training can be performed via online consultation.
I am based in the Amsterdam area so flights in and out of Schipol airport are very convenient.
Another option is to have the intake measurements performed by another Chek practitioner in your area and with this I could carry out the rest. To see options for a Chek professional near you please visit: https://chekconnect.com/

“I saw Celeste remotely over about 12 weeks for a full hamstring rupture - both before surgery and then after. I really appreciated her holistic approach and very high level of technical skill. This includes attentiveness to the way that I move in general, and how that might set me up for future injuries. It also includes her compassionate and warm openness to discussing the social/emotional dimensions of injury and recovery. As an athlete, she knows how hard it can be to be immobilized, and I felt really heard and supported by her providing additional optional movements that I could do, within my pre and post-surgery limitations, so as not to lose my mind with frustration at having to be still. And she was open to discussing other things, like postures/migraines, unrelated to the acute injury but very relevant to my overall experience of living in my body. How did I never know about rolling on a lacrosse ball to relieve tension spots in my back? How come I have seen physical therapists for years but no one ever taught me to relieve quad tension on a roller so that my patella doesn't hurt? I have seen a lot of physical therapists in my life, none of whom had pointed out these things, and Celeste taught me so much in the time that we worked together. ”

“Celeste is a great listener and a calming, positive presence. At my first session, she performed a holistic examination of my joints and muscles. Not only did she test for areas that needed physical improvement, but she also talked me through some of the mental challenges of recovery. At the end of that visit, she offered a series of movements for me to perform, and goals to hit. We then ramped those exercises up to bigger challenges as I grew stronger and more mobile. She was flexible with my care, too, willing to start with in-person sessions and transition to video calls, as my schedule and travel allowed. I highly recommend her as someone that will listen to your needs, and give you the confidence to build your strength back, in a way that works for you.”

“After years of seeking help from various professionals, I was finally recommended to Celeste. I approached her with the goal of addressing back pain from a herniated disc and improperly healed spinal fractures. From our very first call, I could tell her approach was different. Celeste views the body holistically, integrating both the physical and mental aspects of recovery. The initial movements she recommended provided immediate relief, helping me approach daily tasks with correct form. She opened my eyes to the preconceived biases I held about my own recovery and potential, freeing me from limiting beliefs and encouraging genuine healing. Beyond addressing my specific pain, Celeste also identified areas to strengthen for wellness maximisation. I found her to be intuitive, proactive, and nurturing in her approach. Celeste is not only highly skilled but also a joy to work with, making the entire process a positive experience. I would recommend Celeste to anyone- knowing that they would be in safe and knowledgable hands.”

“I loved the care received. I came with a specific muscle problem and pain. Celeste understood the issue immediately. She explained clearly and with illustrations what the problem might be. She showed me a number of movements to do at home to ameliorate the problem. She showed me how to do the exercises and I did follow these recommendations for the most part. I visited her twice so far and both the distressed muscle feeling and the pain are almost entirely gone. Celeste is very thoughtful, smart and sensitive. She responds to questions and is very approachable. She is clearly very experienced. My husband will also start seeing her.. and that says something! He is impressed with my improvement.”

“I came to Celeste after back surgery. We worked for 4 months-seeing her several times a week. Without her professionalism and continued encouragement, I would not have achieved the level I have now so rapidly. She is fantastic.”

“I came to Celeste with a very stiff neck and shoulder. She recommended some simple movements which greatly improved the whole neck shoulder area which had been traumatized for some time.”

“I have absolutely no complaints or comments regarding my care by Celeste. She was wonderful. I crashed a motorcycle in July 2022. I completely demolished my left shoulder and ended up with a Titanium shoulder. I saw Celeste for about a year. I never met someone so knowledgeable about the human body. She helped me regain total use of my left arm, for which I will be eternally grateful. I highly recommend anyone needing her services to see her as soon as possible.”

“I have enjoyed working with Celeste. She is caring, careful and fun to talk with. I had a very painful case of tendinitis that had persisted for over a year. It was improving, but slowly. The guidance from Celeste has definitely accelerated my recovery. I am now almost 100% and Celeste has mapped out a strategy for me to achieve full recovery on my own.”
Michelle F. Marketing Firm CEO
“Celeste, I thoroughly enjoyed you and your professional care. You did a wonderful job of explaining things and helping me manage my rotator cuff related shoulder pain.”

“Celeste is extremely professional, careful, and engaged with her clients. She helped me a lot to improve the function of my right arm after breaking my clavicle from a fall.”
Alicia R. Realtor
“I have residual pain, nerve damage, and post op complications in my arm and neck related to a bad fall and two subsequent surgeries. It has taken and will take a long time to treat and, though I don’t expect full recovery at this point, I definitely feel that I am on the right path with her. Not the normal care I’ve experienced in the past, some of which caused more damage than healing. She takes time to know her client’s special needs. She gives written instructions for movement recommendations which has been extremely helpful. We also record video for special exercises in the event I have any questions later. She is professional, yet caring, and I feel a personal bond with her. Most importantly, she looks at the whole picture-mind and body-which provides for an exceptional treatment!”

“Celeste is very thoughtful and caring. I have a background in healthcare and found her explanations and care recommendations to be particularly educational and helpful. Over the years I have sought care from quite a few practitioners in the United States and Mexico, and Celeste is by far my favorite. She makes each visit fun!”
Debora H. Retired Nurse
“I’ve been suffering from a botched meniscus surgery for several years to the point that I had a hard time walking even a short distance. The movement plan Celeste devised for me gave me almost instantaneous relief. My muscle mass had deteriorated badly so I was amazed at how quickly I regained strength in my legs which helped stabilize my knee. I can comfortably walk into town again which is so important in SMA. She is fantastic!”
Patricia S. Retiree
“I came to Celeste with a knee so damaged and painful I feared complete knee replacement surgery was on the immediate horizon. The knee had first been damaged in a kayak incident over twenty years ago, and I had been babying it along ever since. Celeste worked on me and gave me a series of movements to practice daily, several of which could be done before getting out of bed. The muscles supporting my knee strengthened, and two years later I have yet to need surgery. However, due to bone on bone arthritis, it is still likely that one day I will have to do it. Nonetheless, Celeste's help bought me time. The thing about it is, you have to DO the movements to get the results!”
Tina R. Retiree
“On December 4th , 2023 , I had a total right knee replacement at the age of sixty three. My sincere thanks to you Celeste for all you did. You are truly exceptional! My sincerest gratitude for your time, your patience, and your knowledgeability. It is truly a pleasure to have worked with someone who really cares. Your professionalism, knowledge and useful advice have no doubt improved my ability to move better without pain. I would have no hesitation in recommending your services to anyone who might need them. You have a natural talent for helping people improve their physical abilities and fitness. Many thanks for your wonderful help during my knee and total health recovery. The information and techniques I have learned from you, I will continue to utilize the rest of my life. You have maximized my mobility. I am so grateful!”

“I sought Celeste’s help beginning in my sixth month of recovering from a badly broken/ shattered and surgically repaired leg and ankle. She was able to help me understand and work on residual issues and some new problems that arose while I was in San Miguel. She was especially creative at finding ways for me to build strength and flexibility while not further aggravating sore areas.“
Randi Z. Retired
“I had a double compound fracture of the tibia and fibula in my left leg/ankle. I had three surgeries that included assessing the damage, setting the bones and cleaning the wounds, measuring for a titanium rod and plate and determining the need for human donated ligaments, and installing a titanium rod and screws and plate and screws and grafting human donated ligaments to remaining tissue. I was hospitalized for one week. After the cast was removed, I was recommended to work with someone to gain flexibility, strength and movement with weight bearing and returning to activities like golf. I had 12 or 13 sessions with Celeste, starting with twice a week for about four weeks and then tapering off to once a week that enabled me to put my full weight on my left leg, regain my balance, walk with a cane and later without a cane, and return to normalcy including driving a car and playing golf. She created a number of movements tailored to my injuries that were essential to my successful progression and eventual full recovery. She is an excellent recovery guide and a lovely person. She came highly recommended to me and I would not hesitate to give her my highest recommendation to others.”

“I suffered an unexpected sepsis pneumonia which rendered me intubated for a week followed by another week in Hospital. I lost most muscle tone and balance. Celeste was recommended by a health advocate and her work was invaluable. She combined a practical assessment with a varied regime. In addition she is plugged into current thinking about recovery and mind/body work. Celeste has a gentle manner combined with clear goals.”

“Celeste is innovative, enthusiastic, and caring. I've reached out to her with various sports performance related issues and was always welcomed with vision and passion. Even without injury I'd count on her work to better my overall fitness and vitality.”
Simao A. Trailrunner and Craftsman
“Celeste was particularly good at providing holistic care for my mind, body, and heart. I felt that she really listened to what I needed and adapted the practice to what I was realistically able to accomplish with a small child at home. I always felt better after our sessions, and felt empowered around how to heal my body. I really appreciate her innate ability to meet her clients where they are at and treat them with compassion.”

“I’ve had a complicated relationship with exercise. Celeste once told me that if I could value physical health in my life as I value mental health, then I could rule the world. Then she gave me realistic advice that I was able to apply to make meaningful change. She is an inspiring person and an incredibly competent guide!”
Bryttnie L. Physiotherapist
“I received three times a week sessions in order to keep me active despite substantial spinal stenosis, knee osteoarthritis, and frequent muscle cramping. I looked forward to these sessions which left me prepared to get through the difficulties of aging and orthopedic difficulty. Also I appreciated the information I received helping me to understand why I was performing each movement and what practical strategies I should try to do on my own to manage my discomforts. I was greatly aided in managing my issues and with the understanding I received. I think others would also benefit from this work.”
